Forget that Valentine-Write a Love Letter! Here's How

Has anyone every given you a love letter? If so, did you keep it? I bet you did. If it was well written, I bet you framed it. Have you ever given someone a love letter that they framed? No? Want to? It's the very best valentine you can give anyone and easier to do than you think.

Just follow these simple directions:

1. Quickly write a list of everything that endears this person to you. He or she could be a parent, child, cousin, friend, lover, spouse, teacher--or your boss (in extremely rare cases.)

2. Be specific. You will be writing so fast you may include traits you don't like. That's okay. You can cross those out later.

3. Include physical characteristics that you know your recipient likes. For example, if he has a full head of white hair (or purple) that he cares about enough to have a special barber, mention it.

4. Add specific humorous moments in your life together, not embarrassing ones, but those that you know he or she definitely enjoyed.

5. When you have a really long list, write your first draft. Begin with a general phrase such as, "I love you," or "Je taime, je t'adore, mon petit choux."

6. Arrange your paragraphs from your list and end with a general phrase such as "I love you." It's the details you include that make it a zinger!

7. Type, spell-check and wait a couple of days.

8. Make changes if needed, print and mail. (or roll into a fancy bottle and gift wrap.)

The foam retracts above the legible symphony.

Homemade Valentine's Day Gifts - Six Easy Ideas for Making Your Own Romantic Gifts

Have you ever wondered why we are led to believe that the best Valentine's Day gifts are also the most expensive? In my relationship, we value our time together most of all. And we are on a shared budget, which means any extraordinary extravagance is a shared burden.

The truth is, Valentine's Day is big business. Too often, retailers want us to believe that we need to spend lots of money on traditional Valentine's Day gifts in order to properly prove our love to one another.

This year, let's make a stand for the heartfelt, sentimental, simple gift. Homemade gifts carry the message to your loved one that she is worth not just your cash, but your time, energy, creativity, and thoughtfulness.

Here are six ideas for simple but romantic homemade Valentine's Day gifts.

1. Make a scrapbook. This is one of the easiest gifts to make, and if you plan ahead, you won't even have to touch a glue stick if you don't want to. Many of the online photo processing sites have systems in place where creating a sentimental gift is as easy as dragging and dropping your favorite photos into pre-made templates. Some of them will even provide the romantic quotes to go alongside them.

If you would rather make a more traditional scrapbook yourself, the scrapbooking industry has made that easy for you, too. Purchase a simple mini book kit from your local craft store and cut and paste your favorite photos inside. The most romantic of these mini scrapbook albums or photo books will include personal sentiments, such as "Ten Things I Love About You," "My Favorite Memories of the Past Year," or "You're My Perfect Valentine Because..." All you will need to do is fill in the blanks.

2. Make a scented candle. Your local craft supply store will likely have a kit that makes it a cinch to create a beautiful homemade candle. If you make sure to follow the instructions in the kit carefully, it's an easy process, and you'll be able to customize your homemade candle with dyes and scents to make a gorgeous creation. Make sure to pair your gift with a thoughtful sentiment in a handmade card.

3. Make a Mix CD. Burn a CD of your loved one's favorite music.

4. Make your Valentine's favorite meal. Plan a romantic homemade dinner with a nice bottle of wine and some candlelight. Make sure your loved one's favorite songs are playing in the background.

5. Bake it up. Bake a batch of your partner's favorite sweet treats and wrap up a box of the homemade confections. These will remind your loved one of you, so they'll be much more romantic and personalized than a store-bought box of chocolates (and less expensive, too).

6. Make a Memory Jar. Fill a jar with slips of paper that detail your favorite times of the year, or even your favorite memories of your relationship from the beginning. Create a card that instructs your loved one to read one new slip of paper every day.

Even if you opt for a store-bought gift this Valentine's Day, make sure that you include your personal sentiments on a card. You can easily create a meaningful and romantic gift just by writing down what's in your heart.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For Him

Whether they admit it or not, men appreciate a gift of love on Valentine’s Day. The key is to give a gift that you are proud to give and they would love to receive. It can be tough shopping for a man, especially Valentine’s Day. As if we didn’t have to do enough to convince him that it IS a holiday, we have to shop for a non-girly gift that he would love. Luckily most women love to shop! Whether you love to shop or not, here are 5 no-brainer Valentine’s Day Gift ideas for him which will surely please.

1. Sports Jersey – These are always popular among men’s fashion. For those who can afford, opt for an authentic Jersey from his fave player or team.

2. Sporting Event, Wrestling or Concert Event Tickets – This can be something he would love, but that you both can enjoy. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for the 2nd ticket, however. He may opt to take his best bud…Yikes!! Buy this gift with caution.

3. A framed photo - a nice, professional photographed portrait may be just the ticket. Don’t forget to have it nicely framed for a finished look. But be sure to keep it a surprise. You can either make it a sexy photo of yourself or a family portrait for his desk. Either way, be sure to wear your best or sexiest.

4. Gift Basket – you are probably thinking Gift Basket?! Well I’m here to tell you - yep Gift Basket. The beauty of a gift basket is that you can fill it with anything. Whether it’s every other gift on this list or manly foods like sausage and cheeses, a gift basket can be just what you need. The key is make it more masculine by using leather or sports themed baskets for a masculine touch. Other fillers can include: small sports towels, key chains, popcorn, candy or beer.

5. DVD Collection- whether an action junkie or sports nut, you can help build or enhance his DVD collection with a set of great DVDs. You can even create your own collection, by grouping movies by actor or movie theme. Complete the gift, by watching the movies with him and enjoying it (even if you have to pretend).

Valentine Gifts That Will Pamper Her

As Valentines Day approaches, many men are getting nervous as they know they will be put on the spot yet again to give the best gift that they can. Men tend to put to much pressure on them selves when this holiday rolls around as they think they need to be extra romantic and somehow outdo every other man, where the gift giving is concerned.

This doesn't have to be a hard holiday and men do not need to go to great lengths to prove their undying love to their number one leading lady. All you need is a little bit of creativity and you will come out on top when she opens her gift. One this you can be sure of is that you should try to stay away from the cliche gifts such as chocolate and cheap flowers from the gas station.

Woman love to be pampered and it really doesn't take much to make a woman feel pampered. You can get her a gift certificate to a nail salon so she can get a manicure and pedicure when ever she likes. Women love to feel taken care of and this is a great way to let her sit down and relax, letting someone else take care of her. This is a great choice for a Valentines gift and will get you great brownie points as well.

You can also go with a gift certificate to a local salon where she can get a full body massage, a facial or even a hot rock massage. The ideas are virtually limitless. You can get the gift certificate for something specific or you can leave it open so she can spend it as she wants when she gets to the salon.

If money is an issue then you can also check with local schools that teach massages classes or even nail techs. They offer the same services for a much lower price and the services are performed by the top students under the supervision of their teachers so you can be sure that she will get top quality care and get the pampering that she so deserves.

Buying the perfect Valentines gift doesn't have to be a problem. It is waiting till the last minute that will get you into trouble. Waiting that long to make your gift purchase leaves you with little to choose from. Valentines Day is one of the most popular holidays and you can be sure that the shelves in the stores will clear out quickly. Time and creativity are the key essentials when it comes to getting the perfect gift.

Valentine Gift Giving System - Easiest Way To Find The Perfect Gift

Valentines Day is a wonderful time to express your feelings to someone or someones. However, it can be difficult if you don't know how to shop for Valentines. The bottom line about finding the perfect Valentines gift comes down to how well you know the person you want to give a valentine gift to. This is key because in todays world Valentines gifts are given to special someones, friends, family, and people even give there co-workers gifts. Below are a list of great valentine gift ideas based on how well you know someone.

Your Special Someone/Someone You Know Very Well: Gifts that you give to someone you know very well take a bit more degree of thought. Trust me, people can tell how much effort you put into a gift. Perfume is a great gift for someone you know because you know what perfume or cologne they like. You don't want to give perfume to your co-worker, that might be weird, but more importantly you don't know what perfume they like and each perfume reacts and smells differently on each individual because of their own natural scent.

Someone You Like/Special Someone: Jewelery or diamonds are best given to people you like but are not yet serious. If they are unsure about how you feel about them they will after you give them some diamonds. However, jewelery and diamonds are also great for your special someone because really when it comes down to it they will know how much money you spent on them if you give them some diamonds.

Co-Workers/Friends: Yes, the Valentines Day Regime has convinced people to buy gifts for their co-workers and friends as well(not that there is anything wrong with it...haha). The best Valentines Gifts for people you know but not that well is gift baskets. There are all kinds of gift baskets, fruit baskets, wine baskets, chocolate baskets...all kinds.

So What About Flowers & A Card: Yes, flowers and a card, the original Valentines Gift. There is nothing wrong with flowers and a card, they still convey the message of Valentines Day. They are great alone or as additions to any of the above ideas.

There are many people who think Valentines Day is made up just for companies to make money. Whether or not you believe that you should at-least use Valentines Day to tell your special someone or friends or family just how you feel about them.

Valentine's gifts That Your Man Would Love

The search for unique Valentine's gifts that would suit men is a task, which is not so easy. This is because a lot of Valentine's gifts are actually designed for women. Not a lot of men are very keen on receiving flowers, chocolates and large stuffed animals. As you think of gifts, which would be unique and special for your man, make sure that you would be getting the items, which he would be able to appreciate.

If you have a man who is keen on sports, then you might consider giving some sports equipment, particularly the limited edition ones or the ones that were autographed by his favorite sports personality or player. You might also want to give him a trip to baseball camp or some other sports activities. And, of course, great tickets to a sports event would never fail, as well. It would be especially nice if you would be able to accompany him so that he would feel that you value his hobbies and interests.

If he loves cars, as a lot of men do, you could buy some accessories or cool gadgets for his car. You could also get him a trip to an exciting high-performance driving class, which range from just being on a ride-along on a top-level stock car to the having the thrill of driving the car on a professional track himself.

Now, if you already have children, try to get the services of a babysitter so that you and your husband could enjoy the whole night out by yourselves. You could start off with a romantic dinner at his favorite restaurant or a new restaurant that he has been planning to go to. After dinner, you could go to a bar to have some drinks and go dancing. It would be a wonderful opportunity to rekindle your love and passion for one another.

Seven Inexpensive Valentine's Day Gifts That Will Melt Her Heart

Want to impress your sweetheart on Valentine's Day-but don't have a lot of cash to do it? Don't worry. Most women care more about the thought it takes to choose a heartfelt gift than they do about how much money you spent. If you can't spend money, spend time. It's sure to make her even happier than an expensive present. Here are seven inexpensive gift ideas she'll love.

A love letter. Any woman would be thrilled to receive a sincere love letter. If writing isn't your strong point, don't worry-she'll care more about the thoughts you express than your grammar and spelling. Simply write down all the things you love about her or tell her about the moment you fell in love with her. Before you give it to her, have a trusted friend look it over-preferably a female friend-to make sure you're expressing what you want to say.

A special playlist. You don't have to be a musician to give her a musical gift. Create a playlist of songs that remind you of her. Arrange it on her computer while she's out, and upload it to her Mp3 player as a surprise. The music you choose could include a song that was playing when you met; songs with lyrics that make you think of her; and romantic love songs you think she'll love.

Dinner and a movie at your place. If you can't afford to take her out to dinner and a movie, why not bring the date home? Make her a delicious candlelit meal at your place, complete with a bottle of wine. Then make popcorn, put in a movie, and snuggle on the couch. Choose a romantic movie you'll both love-preferably one that relates to your own relationship in some way. It's sure to be more romantic than an evening at the movie theatre.

An intimate evening. You don't have to buy her an expensive teddy to give her an intimate gift this Valentine's Day. Instead, simply light candles or scatter rose petals, have a romantic meal waiting in the stove, and surprise her at home. Give her a long, romantic evening of dining and conversation, then move to the bedroom for some more intimate time together. Many women love the anticipation as much as the actual deed, which is why a nice, leisurely meal first is a good idea to let her unwind. Oh, and dress up for the occasion-even if you won't be needing your clothes later.

Erotic photos. Love photography? Show your sweetheart she's your top model with a fun erotic photography session. Then give her the camera and let her take sexy pictures of you, too. You can delete these after you take them if you're concerned about privacy, or you can put them in a "secret" photo album only the two of you have access to. Either way, this fun photography session is sure to lead to more.

Make your own candy. Don't want to buy chocolates this year? Why not make your own? It's definitely possible to make your own truffles and other candies, although it may take a few tries to get it right. Pick up some cardboard, construction paper, and other supplies at a craft shop, and make your own box to put them in. This gift is sure to make her smile-even if the candies don't come out perfect, she'll love the effort you put into the gift.

Romantic gift certificates. Homemade gift certificates are a great present for Valentine's Day. Make your own certificates for things you know she'll want-anything from a romantic snuggle on the sofa to a night off from cooking. These gifts are sure to please her, and they don't have to cost anything to you.

Valentine's Day isn't about spending a lot of money on the person you love. It's about reminding her how much you care about her. Most people spend lots of money on Valentine's Day because it's easy to do that, if you have it in the bank. But time and effort can be even more effective than money in showing your loved one that you care. Put some thought into a gift that really shows her how you feel about her-or one that will allow you to give her your undivided attention for an entire evening. Chances are, she'll like it more than she would an expensive gift.

1. Scrapbooks
A scrapbook is among the most thoughtful gifts you could offer your beloved one on Valentine's Day. It is the easiest gift to make, and your partner will undoubtedly appreciate the gesture. A scrapbook makes the most picturesque Valentine's Day gift.
